I've tried half a dozen different systems. I think sonetics has hands down the best system if you only running one crew and theres 5 or less guys on it. The biggest different is the noise cancelation on the sonetics sets is awesome. But it's very pricy and doesn't work well if you've got...
I'm wondering if I wouldn't do better to sell the tree planting job and then sub out the actual planting to a landscaper. I could talk a client through what they want from a tree and make a recommendation on which species would serve their goals best, then once they accept the job send it to a...
Hey fellas,
I run a tree service in NW Pennsylvania. I've got 4-6 guys on my crew plus myself. We mainly do removals and trimming. I'm starting to get into PHC. My question is if there's enough money in planting trees to make it worth it. I have clients ask fairly often if I plant and I've...
Does that gas powered drill turn those long bits well? I installed a couple long rods myself this year and the hardest part was getting my impact drill to turn my 60" bit. I might buy one of those if they you say they work well.
Hey guys,
I got asked to bid a job for a neighboring township. It's about 4000' of "daylight", which was described to me as removing every legal branch, meaning every branch in the 33' right of way (16.5' from center on either side). They told me that I would have to pay prevailing wage if the...

My old collage professor had me out to his house today to look at his elm trees. He has two beside his driveway, a big one and a massive. I need advice on if the big one has Dutch Elm Disease, and if so what I should do to protect the massive one. I'm in Northwestern Pennsylvania.
The big one...
I pull mine on a 22' PJ tilt trailer, not enclosed. Enclosed is probably a good idea if you don't have a garage you can pull it into at night. But I have a big garage so I like non enclosed better. You could make it work with a 20' trailer but I like the extra length to put a couple of big tool...
Have the CMC lifts gotten a lot faster in the air? Because my 2016 83HD+ was anything but fast. I compared it side by side with an 2020 90' Omme once and it was a little slower, not a lot. I just think all tracked lifts are slow in the air.
