The "Promising" Rope by Sterling... Triad

Here is a picture of the Beal Access, just after cutting the cover, parallel to rope. That gap between the cut sides, is indicative of the cover tension and core compression, to keep the rope more round, under pressure. Although each of the 12 cores are "twist braided", they are placed parallel...

The "Promising" Rope by Sterling... Triad

I only use the ZigZag Plus in MRS, 90% of the time I use the Petzl Naja as a TIP, 10% natural bark. Yes, I understand using MRS especially with a pulley, will allow the core and cover to twist independently of each other. But, if a rope was made like the Beal Access, cover and core would be...

The "Promising" Rope by Sterling... Triad

Has anyone tried the new rope by Sterling "Triad"? Quite static; advertised to be "round"; twisted cores, sounds bad, all the ropes that have it, after much use, core twists contrary to cover, making the rope want to twist on itself. Starting to happen with my Kalimba, but Drenaline was far...

Thoughts on chippers, based on knife orientation

I was looking into a Bandit or Morbark chipper and noticed that both seem to have the knife flipped compared to the Vermeer orientation. It seems Vermeer has it better, based on the idea that a chisel best peels wood, up onto the angled side of the chisel. Is it possible or an option to flip the...

Do you always wear your helmet?

It would've added weight to the head, absorbing more of the inertia of the tree. I do have decent reflexes, and a helmet does reduce some acceleration of movement, as does a glove to the hand when pitching.

Do you always wear your helmet?

I have found people that I've worked with, it's almost as if they are more arrogant, egotistical and pompous, like a cliche typical American, with a helmet on. As if they hide behind the helmet, similar to the way sunglasses, can change how a person acts. Yes, I do know that a helmet could save...

    Burning out

@colb What exactly does shutter the business? I almost assume, shut down. @Brando CalPankian What do you mean by, "...the fact that we've hit a level that isn't sustainable for us wearing as many hats as we do." I'd understand, as others said, you'll need to charge more, to pay the current...

    F250 Dump Thoughts

@Keeth I was just thinking is that is a BC1200 or 1800, if so, I remember there was a large Vermeer BC chipper on this forum that the drum had ruptured causing severe damage to the chipper. Here's the thread, it is a BC2100 https://www.treebuzz.com/forum/threads/chipper-drum-failure.49298/page-3...

    F250 Dump Thoughts

I recently got a 2000 F-350 7.3 4x4 Dually DumpTruck, with 4.10 differentials, it had new rear leaf springs put in it increasing the rear weight to about 6,000lbs I have been quite impressed with ability to tow and carry heavy loads. Not always, but sometimes pull the BC1000XL with a full load...

    Morbark tw280phb

I got a 2011 Vermeer BC100XL 49HP Caterpiller 2.2 liter diesel for 12k with 3000hrs It is much better than I thought it would be. It chips 12inch logs pretty well, and can chip one large branch or 2 smaller branches without lowing engine RPM enough, to activate AutoFeed. The one large 17inch...

    Overuse Injuries

I don't know exactly. I shouldn't have been so confident in saying lime juice or citric acid makes the blood less acidic. My reason for stating this, is anecdotal. Maybe it's something to do with the idea that two negatives can make a positive. And, that a positive and negative can cancel...

    Overuse Injuries

@Serf Life I don't know why you mentioned the acid degradation again, in the first post I mentioned the downside of drinking citrus liquids, hence I mentioned, offsetting it, with the consumption of capsules. According to the MD Anderson article, "Though we don’t know exactly how diet prevents...
