I think of it as a prevailing wage contract. Sure there is the opportunity for the employees to make bank, yet the volumes of hoops, paperwork, audits and all the rest take any joy out of it. Same with insurance work. Do the job cover the overhead, get swamped with paperwork and get paid months later after covering the inflated costs.

Do I think having a safety regulator is important? Fuck yea I do. Can we find a more accurate effective method? Maybe and maybe not.

Blaming it on neurodivergence is absolute bullshit. Musk has a developmental intellectual disability which use to be called Asperger’s, even though that has been included into ASD. Partly because the severity index theory was thrown out the window.

So loud and clear Musk IS A DEI hire for the federal government.

Tshombe who was the president of katanga conspired with the Europeans and mobuto to overthrow lumumba. Tshombe became president of the whole country they used the mercenaries from katanga to cement their rule. Mobuto took control of everything soon after and continued to play the west with the threat of the USSR to keep in him power till he died. There were lots of massacre and the legacy continues to this day. Idi amin another trump personality also used that usa\ussr dynamic to get in power and stay there.

Hiring someone who qualifies as part of a group, say DEI, is nothing like hiring them because they are a DEI "classification".



What I've heard Musk say is that meritocracy should prevail, regardless of what boxes are or aren't checked by people.

Let the most qualified get hired.

Trump says 25% tariffs on Mexico and Canada may not include oil

Donald Trump has confirmed he will impose 25% tariffs on imports from Mexico and Canada from February, following through on threats issued weeks earlier.

The blanket tariffs on the countries’ products will come into effect on Saturday, Feb. 1.

However, speaking to reporters in the Oval Office on Thursday evening, Trump told reporters his administration was yet to determine whether oil imports would be included in the policy, noting that the decision was pinned on whether the two nations “treat us properly” and “if the oil is properly priced.”

“Oil is going to have nothing to do with it as far as I’m concerned,” he said. “We’re going to make that determination probably tonight on oil. Because they send us oil, we’ll see – it depends on what their price is.”

So now Der Leader is going to dictate the price of oil? Sounds communistic. What is his basis for determining a "properly priced" crude? Did he forget his first day in office last time, when one of his first actions was to greenlight the KeystoneXL pipeline so we could IMPORT more Canadian oil?
