Helene

We could use extra chaps n helmets that may collecting dust. I saw one report of 32 reported chainsaw injuries in Asheville today. Not very convenient as our ER is a series of army tents.

DM me for an address to mail to. Thanks! You can also send up fresh PPE :)

Steve I hope I can grab you for a beer at the end of one of these long days!

I'm more of a Mezcal kinda guy but I'm thinking Curate or Limone's is probably not gonna be open. I'd enjoy a beer with you.

Don't hate the messenger...

I spoke with a friend who works at VSG/SherrillStuff, and they are trying to get gear out there. I don't know if they are looking to donate or sell, but they should be bringing a lot of field staples. Right now they are looking for the best local contact to coordinate with. @Stumpsprouts , interested in connecting with them?

My arborist friend Devin Najera is coordinating an effort and receiving funds and donations to his house. Everything is grassroots down here right now. I can give his contact to whomever in a DM.

That’s rad. Once a network is made those that can’t physically help can reach out to all the supply companies and see if they can throw down for the cause.

Send it and I’ll reach out to wesspur tomorrow.
Can you send a list of most needed items?
I’m assuming chaps, eyes/ear/head pro, gloves, and first aid kit?
@Mark Chisholm can you check in with stihl? Maybe they can write off and redirect some merch that’s in their stores? @Tom Dunlap can you poke Mark?

Just checking in here for the first time. Was just in Asheville 6 weeks ago with my arb friends. Know the area well. I am at a loss for words on the devastation. Thinking how I can help. Got a lot on my plate right now. But in a few weeks I might go up to lend my services. See how things go. Let the machinery get their part done. But then it is time to get to stuff machinery cannot reach.

Got through to Wesspur, they were already talking of things such as that. They will be discussing and getting back to me on Monday.
Anyone have Clogger pete's info? doesnt seem like hes a member here anymore? It would be cool if manufacture could help out with the effort..

It’s a zoo.
there’s a lot of a lot of different kind of help here!! Had an insane oak failure in a big house that pierced through the walls in 6-8 places. The crane was going to be with us but then got called away by the power company for more important things. My friend Kara brushed it out it like a lemur crawling around the roof with no helpful tie in points…

We were gonna come back for the wood but some homies did the rest, no PPE or anything. It’s wild west out here. I have no idea how they could have managed it.

Got so many stories but I’m going to enjoy some ice cream now..

If a recently unemployed arborist wanted to drive down there with gear and try to help out, who should he contact to be of most use?

Not looking to profit, just someone with a lot of free time suddenly and willing to volunteer.
