13" Sugar Maple bowl. Made this yesterday for an upcoming show. The wood came from a small tree job I did for a friend. It has spalting, ambrosia, a pith, and some great grain.

That’s fantastic. I have a bunch of pieces from trees I’ve taken down. One was the state champion trident Maple. I didn’t turn any of them myself though. I have a river birch that’s pretty crazy also.

A few things, my serpent made of cedar limbs and deer bones, a map of the island where I live and stone and moss spiral. May have posted some of these before?

New Back Porch Built Over Granite Slab​

We've had really dangerous back-door steps since we moved in in 2005. While we once thought the granite blocks were quaint, they were becoming a real risk as we age. So I decided to do something about it. (Please see PDF attachment.)

Got most of the finishing touches done on our wood fired sauna build last week; just in time to fire it up while my in laws were visiting. Looking forward to spending a lot of time in there this winter Stock tank set into the deck for cold plunging. There's also a small changing room not pictured that's timber framed like the deck. The hot room is stick framed, insulated with wood fiber batts, and finished with clear spruce t&g over vapor barrier and strapping. Benches are Doug Fir.

Friends built a one room shed cabin. I had a bunch of walnut, red and white/burr oak and ash lumber that I gave them. We planed them at my house and they edged the boards and came up with a nice floor pattern

Thanks! Yeah, did everything on my own. The timber frame and the board and batten came from my friend’s mill. I have sent some logs his way, but nothing specifically for this project.

Three cherry spatulas, middle one was better heartwood and a few yrs old. Using up offcuts from the house build, have some 1” hornbeam too if folks have suggestions. Made my first paddle a few weeks back during a cold spell, used a friend’s Penobscot as a template.
