All the small things…

Tuck your pants into your socks when wearing rain pants.

People generally pour with the spout at the low point of the bottle rather than the high point, which reduces/ eliminates glugging.

^^^ I’ve been teaching my kids this for a while now.

Oil under-cap foil can be punctured with a pour hole and air hole.

^^^ That’s an AWESOME idea. Gonna have to try that.

Ratchet straps should be given a half twist in open air spans to prevent vibration/ noise.

Peet boot dryer for happy feet!

"Well, I should be sittin' in an air conditioned office
In a swivel chair
Talkin' some trash to the secretaries
Sayin', "here, now mama, come on over here"
Instead, I'm stuck here rubbin' these fenders with a rag
And walkin' home in soggy old shoes
With them steadily depressin', low down mind messin'
Workin' at the car wash blues."

Get good weather gear. I'm talking proper boots, coats, socks, layers, etc. It makes work so much more pleasant and safe. I used to middle through poor fitting boots before I figured that out. Same with my rain gear, storm defenders in the winter is a game changer.
I used to do rain gear, but discovered I'd rather get wet from rain than sweat. Now I just don't work in the rain.

My opinion is that the $50 Pete Dryer model is not useful for me - convection flow only, no fan. There is another model with fan, digital timer, heat/no heat. About $100 or $120 in black color.

Same thing in white color is $55 with shipping on ebay right now.

No such thing as the right gear. I sweat in shorts and a t-shirt. Adding any kind of layer is only going to compound that.
I have the same issue. It blows everyones mind how much I sweat. I think it's evolutions way of telling me to live somewhere very dry

Variation on foil puncture. In the direction almost to the side that you pour, cut a triangle flap that you fold out over the pour edge. Bend it about level. Oil follows path on it and never dribbles down the side of the jug. Cut air hole opposite side in foil as usual. When done filling fold flap back in before putting on cap. Ready for next time. Especially useful on car valve cover openings.

I saw that. I am relieved to hear it's not a personal tale
I have a harrowing tale of my climb line going into my chipper, right after the safety meeting, chipping light, dead redwood branches.

I could have done more to insulate myself from employees choices.

Since that day, I put up with no BS from employees who don't want to communicate plans clearly and who are willing to work on the premise of "I'm not trying to get hurt".

I have no room for "Oh! I though _______."

I need people who "are trying very hard not to hurt/ get hurt", aka committed to working safety... what I call "boring tree work".

Later, I'll post a pic of my chipper keychain.

Long story short, I had a very high redirect with my stretchy Wraptor line. The longer I hung, the more slack developed on the ground beneath me from a lot of very stretchy rope in the system. 10' more tail/ standing end can be just barely enough to go into the chipper.

I should have secured the tail to the base of the tree.

That sounds great too. My only issue is I bought oil in bulk, so I dispense into the same 3 bottles as needed. I need a modified cap with a cap on it.

after reading this post in September: https://www.treebuzz.com/forum/thre...n-wet-tight-fitting-clothes.48621/post-745606 I did end up buying a couple Brynje mesh t-shirts to try. Four months later I've got four tshirts, three longsleeves and three long underwear. Never going back to anything else, I'm a problem sweater too and these as base layers have been a game changer for both hot and cold weather. Worst part is the polypropylene starts to smell funky after a few washes, gotta buy Nikwax basewash instead of using regular laundry soap. The merino is fantastic, that I just wash by hand using eucalan. Hang everything to dry and it's good to go.
