Similar situation here. My Grapple truck has been at the shop for a new hydraulic pump for over a month now. Parts took longer to come in than advertised, then it was the wrong part. So now they are rebuilding the old pump. I was supposed to get the truck back yesterday, but I haven't heard anything yet as to whether the parts came in and it was completed or not.I've been popping in and checking stuff out haven't had much to say lately, chippers down which has been kinda stressing me out. finally got the parts in yesterday after those asterds at cal line kept screwing it up, ordered the wrong part, didn't ship to me didn't call when it came in, guy went to pick up found it's the wrong part showed them the right part cal-tard said he was ordering it right away never showed up call they were still charging me for the wrong party never ordered the part said he's going to order so I'd have by the end of last week calls 2 days later to make sure I wanted it shipped to my house fing ridiculous. Took over 3 weeks just to order the right part.
Like everyone going through this type of situation, I hope you’re back on track soon. It’s tough when we rely on something particular and it’s down.Similar situation here. I love winter pruning.
Valley Oak and Black Walnut from this week.
Just the angle making weird shapes. That black walnut had been badly hatracked maybe 20 years ago, and it was doing this weird thing where it was thinner in the stems BELOW the old hacked off zones than above, and many of the old wounds still need another 5+ years to finish closing up. It was suuuuuper noodly feeling, despite being Hella thicc. I worry about the heartwood in that tree, especially with how many entire dead sections I had to remove. It really limited how much living tissue I was wanting to cut, but it clearly felt like weight needed to come off the ends.Cool! Do you have thousand cankers disease there? We have lost most of the big walnuts around here. I seem to remember it starting around 2010. Didn't notice any TCD, and frankly, I haven't heard of it being an issue in our area, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything.Do you have thousand cankers disease there? That's what I did looked up hydraulic shops online called one over an hour away, told the guy it was a white he said what model i didn't have a model, he immediately knew the series from the serial number told me 3 hours of written time 1 week-10 days I said we depend on it for work he said we'll put a rush tag on it done in less than 5 hours. Dealers can just f you over because they know you're trapped.Like everyone going through this type of situation, I hope you’re back on track soon. It’s all reminding me of my brother’s issue with his Woodsman TAC750. Awesome chipper, but had a leaky hydraulic motor on the feed roller. He ordered a brand new motor which leaked immediately after install. Crazy. He ended up having a hydraulic shop rebuild the old one.
Just hanging out. Funny. Is that sawmill flitch all piled up there?View attachment 91891
My buddy chose not to adjust his angle, but this incense cedar was just hanging out in the woods just behind the house we were working at yesterday.
Not even. It was all just scrapped off of the old mobile units that were disintegrating around it, a la horders. It was a weird place. It looked like the mess had been made a generation ago, and the nice old couple in the house kept their space neat, but maybe their kids made the mess out back. I didn't ask, but it gave off a lot of mixed signals.Just hanging out. Funny. Is that sawmill flitch all piled up there?
