Is that a forklift on the front of that last truck?
Yes it is. I've seen that truck on the road a few years back but I only got blurry pics of it. Today I stumbled across it's shop and thought I'd get a better pic.

The thing that gets me is that the forks do not fold upright for transportation. He was going down the road ready to impale anyone who happened to stop too quickly in front of him.

This brings up so many mixed feelings. And reminds me how much of a bubble I live in. Amazing.
In my area's defense, these are the worst I've seen over the years and most of them I've only seen once. I'm guessing they didn't last long.

There are many more well equipped businesses and all sorts of in between.

The panel on the side of the bus would fold down like a drawbridge. The edge was about 24" off the ground, hanging from chains on both sides. Then short ramps would flop down to the ground.

My ATV would drive up/down for transport.

The bus also made for a comfy break room on days of yuch weather.

Eventually I got the one ton cube van and the ATV and all gear went inside.

Before mini-skids were on the market I built up a couple of ATVs to be skidders.

1-Jenny Juzwik-oak wilt scientist USFS-driving it on a research project it did with her-counter weight on front- look close you'll see a small t-bollard for rigging or dragging
11-plow-dragging brush-tub for chunks or rakings
8-log arch-pinned at arrows for storage-basswood logs
3- one cut-choke it- rope goes through the davit, around the winch-crank it up-off to the chipper-all limbing and mess at the chipper

Thanks, I had made a 12 inch model first that my kids played with. The Jitney had a spool valve controlling either front wheel, forward or reverse (I would have liked to make it 4 wheel drive and electric but that was too expensive). The trailer bed could pivot so that it would articulate over rough ground, but the design flaw was that when one wheel lost traction it would just turn the cab. What it needed was a gear at the top perimeter of the cab roof that was dedicated to steering the cab, that way the front drive wheels would essentially be limited slip.

That’s dope.
