Conspiracy Theories

A quote from Michael Crichton, MD: “Let’s be clear: the work of science has nothing whatever to do with consensus. Consensus is the business of politics. Science, on the contrary, requires only one investigator who happens to be right, which means he or she has results that are verifiable by reference to the real world. In science consensus is irrelevant. What is relevant is reproducible results. The greatest scientists in history are great precisely because they broke with the consensus.”
That’s actually not well said, verification of theory or findings is reproducible results, which is a form of consensus.

Of course we need great minds to pioneer new ideas and different perspectives, eventually there needs to be verification, at which point there is consensus.

I doubt that Crichton would disagree with that.

Daniel! Really? You can do better than this. This guy is tripping balls.

Don't be so sure. DO you really think you know everything that is goig on in the world right now?

Just becasue you don't know about something, does that mean it can't be true?

And I'm not saying that is true... it is a consoiracy theory though. When I hear something and my first reaction is to think "that's rediculous" or even makes me LOL, that's when I start paying attention, because that's when the iformation is outside my bx and there is an opportunity to really learn something.

No one knows everything that’s going on in the world. Too many red flags in this one, more than I can count.

Typically though when bizarre theories about Zelensky are promoted you know the Russia misinformation campaign is in full swing. They throw the crumbs on the ground and the conspiracy fandom is more than happy to eat it up.

Does anyoine think that the US put men on the moon in 1969? ... because the in 2016 Chinese announced that they planned a manned mission to the moon by 2036....

anyone who thinks it's going to take Cina 20 years to put a man on the moon with 2016 technology, but somehow the US did it in 8 years on 1960s technology is out of their minds....

What you haven’t factored in is that Nazi Germany refugee rocket scientists like Werner Von Braun helped by head-starting the U.S. space program.

What’s more interesting to me is why people want to believe so fervently that the moon landing didn’t happen. I’m with Buzz Aldrin on this one.

Van Allen Belt
You can read all about it and astronaut interactions and effects on them on the NASA web site.

More problematic for space travel are cosmic rays and random energized particles beyond the Van Allen Belts. It would suck to run into a black hole. Elon Musk’s fantasy that we can escape a human degraded Earth through planetary travel and colonization is a dead end.

Agreed, and it's hard to believe that he wouldn't know that... perhpas just a guise to develop space weapons etc...
He doesn't seem interested in weapons systems. He is dominating global communications with the Starlink system. He has tremendous influence in the Russia/Ukraine conflict, (as widely reported). He can selectively turn on or off regional internet in any area worldwide that is dependent on his satellite system. Ukraine depends on Starlink connectivity for its reconnaissance and attack drones.

maybe.. maybe not... maybe it's good that he has the ability to stop this thing from developing into WW3... obviously none of us have a clue what's going on behind closed doors and are only picking up the crumbs of news that we are allowed to hear, so it's all very specualtive. But that's the way I heard it.. Musk had shut off Ukraine's ability to attack Russia with drones because he thought that might escalate into WW3...
