I agree with your set up. The Chicane is a poor substitute for a rope wrench on the Zigzag. But that combination is the way to go.I've never been a big Petzl guy, and even less so after their blatant Chicanery, but this combo is freakin' sweet, buttery smoothness and high performance :
ZK-1 (fully adjustable)

If you want to kick it up try putting an Arbsession caralink V2 tether and a Notch adjustable wrench on there. Pretty amazing.I've never been a big Petzl guy, and even less so after their blatant Chicanery, but this combo is freakin' sweet, buttery smoothness and high performance :

Way to go! My dad started his own training at age 50 (Karate and later on BJJ), earned his black belt along the way, and didn't give it up until after he had open heart surgery at 72. The healthiest older folks I know are the ones that never stopped moving.I know it isn't tree related but this is a big deal for me. Today I earned my Black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu after many years of training. Lots of set-backs, time away from training for various important life and work responsibilities, ups and downs, not to mention the physical challenge presented by grappling at this level at age 47, mostly against guys in their mid-20s. Some of you may know something about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and what this means, but I'm sure that lots of you guys understand what it is like to exist in a physically demanding world in "middle age", and the effort, focus and toughness it requires.
