New Tribe Onyx Saddle discussion in light of the newest saddle releases

I held it in my hands at the ITCC. Very shiny and blingy, but nothing earth shattering over the current TM. Just some DMM branding
I do not want earth shattering... nothinv is more comfortable to me than a treemotion. Harness sitting low on my hips is the kicker then add those lower D's for sitting in suspension and I am mint. The DMM is just an upgrade...we shall see.

The one feature I do remember thinking was a difference maker were pivoting hip rings. They had maybe a 90 degree range of motion that would take some of the pull off your hips if you were ever lanyarded in there at an awkward position.

It's still a saddle I think will be a winner, just not one that people are going to find a huge upgrade. Sort of like when DMM made their version of geckos. A couple of small tweaks and some DMM branding....which always comes at a price premium.

Any idea what the red tubing that runs along the top is for?
Yep, looks like more places to hang things. The high position is a new idea. I like it. With the current gear hanger loops on harnesses a lot of the stuff you want on your harness is potentially getting in the way. Keeping things tight a little higher up could be great.

That is wild, no employees wanted to take it on?

They are already reduced down quite a bit from the number of employees/size of the operation at its peak say roughly 12 years ago? Practically at "one-man band" status at this point with out me knowing the actual details on the ground. Casey has been lead designer/prototyper/fabricator for more than a few years now. Hoping he'll continue to find a way to work on harness designs whether it's by contract to someone else or other means.

They were at the perfect level of "Yes Moss we can make the custom adjustments you're requesting for your next harness". To be able to call a harness maker and have them that accessible and cooperative was unprecedented at the time, without me being some kind of tree climber industry rock star. And the time they shipped a 200' length of 10mm HTP to a west coast location on short notice for me, no fuss, no extra charges. It goes on and on. I'm sure many others have similar stories. So appreciated.
