Saddle setup (picture thread)

Finally got the work bag home this weekend. I picked up an edelrid first aid pouch to replace the puke green Buckingham blood stopper kit. The bandage fits perfect in the new pouch but it is much smaller and more compact than the buck pouch.

Definitely not a minimalist approach :)

But I'd say not too overkill.

Tell me what you think.

This is for a solo, dead doug- fir removal at the edge of the forest (2 houses within reach).

Handsaw may not be seen, but present.

The black pouch holds wedges, stacking plates, and a short ax.

3 slings with biners were used to rig a limb to an anchor limb. A short rigging rope was carried, but unused, as I couldn't tell how big one limb would be.

I sometimes carry a small bottle of gas and oil in a tree like this, as one tank isn't enough.

For a bigger tree without cleanup or rigging, rolling solo, sometimes, I carry a 2511t and 200t.

I can Wraptor back up with a bigger rear- handle for what I don't want to double- cut.

A Petzl puller biner is useful for pulling a saw up from the ground.

What rope are you using there for ur lanyard?
I have an old rock climbing rope with the same exact pattern

This is arbsession's version of the kernmaster 11.7mm. They call it kernRaptor because of the Jurassic park themed colors. It's the same as Wesspurs bifrost which is what I primarily climb on.

Basic everyday work setup minus my double ended lanyard and adjustable friction saver (if im using it). I'll put my hook on if I'm traversing and a hand ascender when I know I'll be limb walking.
Compared to everyone else I seem to have a lot going on here haha I don't want to explain everything to keep this post short but everything has a very specific purpose and most things have multiple purposes. So feel free to ask if you're curious.

Weight? That’s a ton of gear! How do you like the pocket wedge and how often does it come out?
Haha the weight doesn't bother me as I have suspenders. And usually just on larger removals which is anywhere between 1 to 3 times a week. I have a loop of throwline on it so when I'm using it I just girth it to my lanyard so it doesn't get lost in the abyss.

Loving this thread! Anyone else fly with a scrench? I had an old sherrill wedge pouch with the velcro scrench holder but it gave out. Thinking custom kydex(sp?) or another pouch with rugged magnet as backup.

If I'm working solo I have a small throw line mug I use as a ditty bag I'll clip on with one of those fold up chainsaw multitools in there. Also a good spot to keep my phone.

I’ve never deployed my pocket wedge for tree work….. it worked well at wedging a locked truck door open so I could unlock it with a coat hanger!
Done that before too
i try to keep off as much stuff as possible , saw lanyard is inspired by lawrence schultz.
when i‘m mostly doing handsaw pruning, i will take off the suspenders. also i have two bridges on there.
I got that Silky straight Tsurugi 400mm too. It really is an excellent tool, and every now and then I can just leave the chainsaw on the ground.
