Today....

Did a little weight reduction on this tree today. I took the ends off a bunch of bigger limbs in the direction of it's lean. I advised the homeowner that it was damaged at the base and recommended taking some weight off as a minimum. But that removal would probably be a good idea within a few years, what are your opinions on the tree I probably took several hundred lbs off that were pretty far out from the trunk I was debating on whether to remove some higher up as well.

It still looks nice and full to me. Those live oaks around our neck of the woods are pretty hard to kill, and with regular end weight reduction, I think they can live basically forever. I have one that's enormous and it looks like a bunch of suckers that sproutedoff the trunk when the main stems broke off about 100 years ago, based on what I've cut off and counted rings.

Yes it looks healthy for sure, my concerns would me root strength due to the large boulders opposite the lean and some kinda funny looking bark along with decay in that large limb that broke off years ago. I don't think it is likely it will hit anything terribly expensive if it does fall though maybe the corner of the garage but will be short of the house.

What a beautiful baby! I’m so happy for you guys, congrats! In my opinion, there’s nothing in life that’s as fascinating as watching a child grow and develop their own personalities.

Was trying to clear the driveway yesterday. Guess it’s time to bundle up and work on that some more.

I bid some trees on Monday saw this anvil in the yard and let the lady know I was interested in purchasing, I told he I could only do 200$ as I was giving her a great price on the trees already, she agreed to it was so stoked to load it in the truck yesterday evening when the work was done, an anvil like this typical sells for 4$ a lb maybe more it's 154 lbs.

Wow, that’s a lot of snow! I love snow, but I’m not sure I want to see quite that much all at one shot!
