Tree Austria 3.2 or maybe Weaver Denali?

I've been looking at all the different saddles and with Black Friday sales I want to take advantage and upgrade. I'm climbing on Weaver 4-D's.

I have a simple thought process, if I'm spending more than 400 then I'm just going to get a Monkey Beaver but, I don't really want to drop the extra coin. Therefore, anything over a $400 price point is a moot point for discussion.

I've been looking at the Tree Austria 3.2 and have searched the site looking for input. Most I read was its a good saddle that flies under the radar. It appears the bridge might be better if it was a rope vs strap.

The other saddle I'm considering is the Weaver Denali. I like the construction with the leather and all but the way the leg loops are connected to the back of the saddle with cordage seems out of place compared to the rest of the constructed and not easily adjustable.

I might be leaning towards the Tree Austria because of the large accessory loops. The Weaver seems to lack in that area...

Anyone have personal experience with these two saddles that can chime in? Should I be looking at another saddle in the 3-400 price range? Thanks!

That certainly changes things.
Any experience with either of the three mentioned?

You likely won’t regret it, the lower Ds change everything.
Can find the 2018 TreeMotion for around 380$ too, but the waist buckle on the SuperLight is way better. Easier to snug up and won’t sag as much with heavier gear hanging off it.
I cut the Cobra buckle off my old TM and put a simpler friction buckle on.

Just from the Buzz, I’ve heard the TreeAustria 3.2 is excellent and the Denali is nothing special, but I’ve no personal experience with either.
I have an old TreeMotion and a SuperLight, once I put a normal buckle on the older TM I like it better. They’re both excellent.
I’m in the minority with my opinion here, but the Ergovation is my favorite saddle and the one that I use the most. It’s really not much different than the TreeMotion, but it stays in place better for me. If looking to not spend a lot of cash, I really recommend the SuperLight. The Ergovation is over 500$ usually, some sites over 600$.

Not sure where you are in the North East, but if you’re ever around Buffalo/ Niagara Falls, you’re welcome to try them all out.

Thanks for the offer. I'm near Syracuse and have family in the Falls... I'm looking to buy this weekend while on sale so wont be able to take you up on that offer before purchasing. I might see if I can find a non-superlight on sale. I like the idea of having a life rated ring on the back. Many times I've had my life line behind me and it's a PITA and would like to be able to have the option to tie into the back of the harness.

$400? TreeMo S.light or Cornell Valiant..Both are supremely comfortable, endlessly cutomizeable, and my 1st 2 choice regardless of price...

I watched the video but dont have time to read all 30 pages... Does it come already tied with the cordage or is it "assembly required"? Looks nice. How do I get in touch with the guy?

Technically speaking, the PETZL Sequoia SRT saddle at bartlettman is in the range at $399.46.... Didnt realize I had so many nice options... Thanks again for the link.

Youre responsible for configuring and splicing the life support... I know a guy who has built quit a few Cornell Rope Saddles and Cornell Valiants... Maybe he could help you out?

Gap Arborist still has a couple Tree Motions available for really cheap - $379 at present. As of this morning there were still a few available, but they probably won’t last long. That’s a hard deal to beat on a really good saddle.

Rico what makes the light better in your opinion? I've been curious but have stuck with the standard thinking the "thinner materials" would make the saddle less comfortable in spurs especially. Have I mislead myself??

The buckle is definitely a part of it. Not sure if that improved w the TM Evo or 2018 version. Mine is from 2014 I think, that buckle had to go. Anytime I hung a chainsaw from it, it felt like I was back in high school rockin my Jnco jeans.

First is the waist adjustment, which is much better on the S.light.. I also find that the thinner material on the padding and the conveyor belt material hugs and conforms to the hips much better, making for more comfy ride. A lot of the latest and greatest saddles have come and gone around here, but the S.light still remains at the top of the heap in my book.

Can anyone explain to me the difference between the TreeMotion Evo and the regular 2018 version? @rico?

From what I can tell it looks like the EVO has a double rope on the bridge and maybe the lower D's are slightly different... Other than that I cant really tell.

I'm not adverse to the extra weight of the standard 2018 saddle. If it has more comfort than the light then that's what I want. The other big factor is the standard 2018 saddle has a life rated ring on the back and I feel like there are time that would be handy to tie into. I'm going to go make a deposit into my account and make a purchase before they either run out of stock or the deal ends...
