I am back in the game for trying to dig this up. I just looked on my bookshelf because I had notes written in the margins of the book about the newspapers. The book is MISSING from my shelf! I either have lent it out and it hasn't come back or its buried in storage.

From my memory the Vancouver Sun published it. I also know the paper in New Masset also published many of his opinion letters as well, if not the Manifesto too. If there is any one in BC that can look in the library archives to find this I'll be your friend forever..

I've just emailed the Vancouver Sun and hoping that they can provide us with some info.

I have been in contact with the editors from Vancouver Sun newspaper and they have put me in touch with their library and archive department. I will be having them run a search for me soon and should be able to get a copy of the manifesto from them for a small fee hopefully...stay tuned for more.

Can't think of a better tree book...except maybe The Wild Trees.

BTW, I never was able to get the manifesto. Seems no one wants to release it. Makes me wonder why?

Word I got is that the family has the rights to it, and they don’t want it released.. odd that the author states it was delivered to every major newspaper from SE Alaska to Vancouver BC. Supposedly it was published in full, so it likely would take scrolling through the micro film records of the newspapers to find it.

Highly recommended to read. And the docudrama fills in some gaps (also less fantastical.
Book “the golden spruce”
Movie “Hadwins judgement”
READ it then watch it in that order.
