The area has most certainly been taken. Business owners have had their ability to provide for their families taken. Residents have had their freedom and security taken.

Example: Cop responds to a domestic violence. Husband is beating wife in the face with a coffee mug. No one normally thinks of a coffee mug as a dangerous weapon, but he sure as hell could kill her with it. Hitting her with it is likely to result in serious bodily injury. Lethal force justified.

I understand (and agree) that there is legit question about whether the taser is likely to cause "serious bodily injury" to the cop. Resolving these questions is the duty of juries and judges, not ill-informed raging mobs.

3. In this instance it was the cops who brought the coffee mug to the dance, and the man wasn't beating anyone with the coffee mug. In fact he fleeing the scene with the coffee mug as fast as humanly possible. Hey, maybe he was stealing the coffee mug, and that was the justification for shooting him in the fucking back, because as we all know a coffee mug is not considered a lethal weapon in the state of Georgia..

Judges and juries? Surely your fucking kidding. We have cops on camera choking black men to death.. Nothing... We have cops shooting unarmed black men in the backs as they tried to run away? Fucking nothing. We have cops killing a black woman in her home all because the cops went to the wrong address while looking for a man they already had in custody. Nothing...

@evo To be clear, I have no issue with anyone in CHAZ openly toting guns. An armed society is a polite society, no?

I just thought it was funny how fast they erected borders and used armed "checkpoints" to keep out the unwanted. So deliciously Trump-tastic.

I'm not sure what fucking planet your living on but the trial of Officer Micheal Slager, the man who shot Walter Scott in the back, ended in a hung jury. After this the Feds came after Slager so he made a plea agreement, pleading guilty to second degree murder and obstruction of Justice... The man who we all watched discharge 8 rounds at Scott, hitting him 5 times gets off with 2nd degree murder. And just so you know he was sentenced to 20 yrs, not life.

You say all these black men had to do was comply. Fucking please. Do you remember Freddie Gray in Baltimore? They broke his fucking neck for fun...

The thing though is it wasn’t fast at all. The protests were going on there for many days prior to the ‘take over’. Fact is all those orange and white barricades were from the cops.
Its a sad fact that it’s now not uncommon for folks who either disagree with the protest, or are just plain idiots to drive vehicles into the crowd. This is simply fact which has been occurring over the past few years. With this current wave there have been over 15 cases of vehicular assault, vehicular manslaughter, and the like. They would be fucken stupid not to set up barriers. It’s not a boarder, no business has faced any extortion and are fully open for business with ordinary folks wondering in and out for typical commerce (virus permitting).
If you like send some funds my way and I can get medical gear out into CHAZ. Without a doubt that is one way to neutrally help folks without any political stance. As it’s been shown time and time again people are getting hurt, and left to be trampled. Their only hope in many cases is the street medics. Many trained EMS, and nurses out there on any available off duty hours.
 
Fact also is there was at least one case in the evening where a lone white dude came into CHAZ, and tried to light the cop shop on fire. Very quickly after the flames started these same protesters ran to the fire and put it out all within the amount of time it took the arsonist to cross the street and walk away about 75-100’.

Speaking of "woke", it would appear that those trigger happy cops in Atlanta woke up this morning to discover that the autopsy of Rayshard Brooks ruled his death a homicide. Fucking cowards shot him in the back twice. Prison bound!
