Interesting on the Reep as they use it on some of their products that are definitely designed for life support. For example, the multisling and ring loop. Of course those are in a basket configuration which is I guess why they can get away with it. Nevertheless makes you wonder why they wouldn't use something stronger.

If it's 11mm Reep that would be great, if 10mm yeah loading is such that favors the lighter stuff.

Teufelberger lists 10mm sirius as 5400 lbs breaking strength. If it breaks that much lower, there is a problem.

Yes, it is indeed. Many times I've thought about what Moss just brought up & the fact that it's used in the multisling (which gets advertised for use in every dang configuration you can think of.. basket, single, chokered, as a prusik etc). If it was advertised as basket use only, i wouldn't be second guessing anything.

Does Petzl have the specs on their site for it's strength in a normal bridge use/basket pull scenario? I suspect that for a straight pull it's all about the strength of the stitched eyes not the cordage.

For reference on the overall strength of a stock Captain Hook system, the 10mm Reep Schnur hook line has a surprisingly low break point. I had a new length that broke as I recall at 2900 when one of my sewn eyes was load tested.

I'm sure there's something on their site as far as specs go, it's just never in an actual number forum. It's always a cert like "CE12356.78 section 2, part b, paragraph d" type of reference that is useless to most unless you actually know the exact code. I go as far as trying to look up these codes & usually only end up finding a broad range of minimums & maximums to fall within said code..

I confidently use my DMM Captain on traverses that are generally half the length of my throw lanyard. I can usually retrieve a snagged hook by returning to the hook in point and using the other end of the same lanyard line in a DdRT configuration to return from a traverse.
