Compact Bulldog Bone

I hear km3/max are great, but I am concerned about grip on 11mm line. Xstatic gets good reports, 11.7mm, but the color might make me puke. I had a poison ivy rope about 12 years ago, I only ever used it for Ddrt, but I liked it. I see some people having creeping or flattening problems with the Yale 11.7's, but are they just bring picky? Tachyon is out of my concideration due to the bouncyness reports. I hear cougar is good, no one carries it now... so, km3 max or yale 11.7.

The Xstatic is even uglier in person than it is in the pics. It looks like someone went to 7-11 and drank ever flavor of slurpee know to man, and then threw up on your dashboard. It sure is one kickass rope for SRT though!

You can get cougar blue or orange from HoneyBros in England. They deliver to the US amazingly fast.

Sean, I have not heard other users report that change with a swivel vs. teardrop. Did you install the nano with the small end through the attach point?

Small end is up, big end to my bridge. Was able to adjust the bronze and get it running nicely again. Possibly coincidental, but the rubber in the small eye does seem to affect lower arm pivoting/ angle.

Can you pm me the source for more SS cotter pins?

5 minutes before treetopflyer commented I ordered 200 feet of km max... in black. I'll report back on how well it works.
Careful on that black line, If your running sharp tools around it. I had a black rigging line once..got it on sale.. Guess what i did...I cut the dang thing... cause it's w ierd how it gets lost in your depth perception , black lines , why would they any way ..for stealth missions I suppos. Duh.. on another note many on here seem to enjoy the kmmax , I've never ran it myself..

That little rubber ring inside the nano swivel? If that's the reference , it shouldn't last long ..mine got disenergrated within a few climbs..

I order cougar through Honey Brothers.

Not everything I do is smart. I figure, it's black, nothing else is black, as in trees, grass, leaves... I should be able to see it. I'll find out soon enough. Hopefully the ground guys see it too. I kind of did it in mockery of the xstatic and it's slurpy puke color scheme.

Have you ever seen vanta black? I think that's the name. It is so black it makes a flat surface look like a hole. I hope this rope is less black than that.

@KTX, I see your message, but for some reason below the message it says "Locked for replies to this message" I would say email me, but my email is down right now also. Gordon

I thought maybe you were rec climb g with it.. Either way it's just ...how else can I say this. Trippy looking at a black ROPE to me .. haha. Xstatic around me in the fall isn't super visible either.. I've never seen vanta

I ordered the compact adjustable bulldog bone, payed via paypal, from surveyor on Sunday the 21st and he had it in the mail the following morning. The bone made it to me before the order placed with treestuff on the same day. I call that good customer service. My lovely black km3 max arrived the day after, but I didn't get a chance to use either in till today. The bone is awesome. It worked flawlessly on the km3 max. I feel like I have entered one of the lower heavenly planes. Right out of the box with the adjustment full open, it worked well, felt very secure, Smooth engage and disengage. I adjusted it in slightly and got a quicker bite. It felt very secure for my whole climb with no creeping, even while briefly holding a 50lb or so log.
Btw, I had no problem with the visibility of the black rope. It has bright yellow/gold threads it numerous enough quantity to aid in visibility. However, I have 16 years of fairly high volume professional climbing experience and my least experienced groundman has over ten years. I would not suggest a black rope for everyone.
Thanks for a great tool Gordon!
