Tree Motion or monkey beaver?

New climber here trying to find my first harness. There aren't any stores around here to try on a harness. So what do y'all suggest?

Also, does anyone know why tree stuff doesn't sell the monkey beaver harness?

Splitting hairs bro. Both world class saddles, so you really can't go wrong with either.
I have both and honestly find the TreeMo S. Light slightly more comfy, but find the MB slightly more supportive with a larger saw. YMMV of coarse.
I believe you can only buy the MB from August directly these days.

Most guys don't need the big guns like you do Rico! The longest bar I use on average is 36" you use 48 inches on limbs there!

Congrats on the new saddle! There is a reason it is the #1 saddle on the planet.
Take the time and get it setup/dialed in, and you will be rewarded with one seriously kickass, comfy saddle.
Viva la Treemo!

Well I got the tree motion. I couldn’t decide which one to get but the tree motion was $100 cheaper and if you spend $500 at tree stuff you get a free notch bag. I can’t wait to try it out.

Tree motion was less expensive??? No shit.. a few months back i bought the monkey over it, as it looked more comfortable & sizeable for me & the TM was more $$..

What was cool is i was able to try three or four different harnesses.. Two different sizes in the MB, Ergovation & Ergovation pro.. I wasn't charged a dime for return shipping either.. thought that was pretty cool of the companies.. Tree Stuff, Wesspur, Buckingham.

Iill say this though.. i wish i had all that gear storage on the MB. It would be perfect at that point. Would like to try the TM sometime & see how it fits my larger frame. The 38 waist is what really kept me from trying it.. I'm 36-38.. Year round.. What's odd is i ended up with a Large MB, the XL felt way to big once suspended, d-rings were out in front of me.

So, SadShoe27, Welcome to the TreeBuzz forum, a little bit late. I was wondering how you are liking your new saddle, about two months into owning it. Care to comment? Thanks.

Just an Update on the new MB saddle. 3 thumbs up! Lighter than my other ones, doesn’t pinch my nuts, feels great in a hang!
Needs the goodies to make it a total game changer but over all a total improvement even stock.

What goodies? You talking about the leg pads? Adjustable Bridge?

Speaking of the legs.. i really wish my MB had some sort of loops on them for gear.. they managed to sew the rediculous patches on there, but no time or resources for just some simple loops in the webbing... I thought about trying to add some myself but didn't want to muck it up.

Keep in mind this is the first saddle I've ever used so I can't compare it to anything else. I've used it about 4-5 times climbing recreationally ddrt. I don't like the waist strap, it's too thin and digs into my gut/hips. I'm not sure if a wider strap would help or make the problem worse or if it's just my inexperience. I wish I could make the bungees on the leg pads longer. They are maxed out right now and still squish my boys, I have to pull them down once I get into the tree.

Other than that I like it. It's very light weight and comfortable when sitting in it while in the tree. It also has a lot of gear loops which is nice. I already put a couple caritools on. I wish I had a monkey beaver to try on and compare it to but I don't have $500 for another saddle.

So all in all I like it but still new to climbing so take that into consideration.

First thing you have to do with the Treemo is make sure it is riding below the top of your hip bones (essential). This will help with the waist strap digging in.
I will take pic later of how I run my bungee on the leg pads. Zero junk crunch when dialed in!

try lengthening the strap that goes from the red rings on your hip to the large green dees on your bridge.

Where's the pics of the bungee Rico? I got a TM after my last climb on my MCRS. It's so huge on me I'm on the last hole in the belt and its still too loose. It just hurts me. Crazy what 40lbs of weight loss will do to you. Very unexpected as well.

I appreciate the tip about where the saddle should ride. I've got everything maxed out but I've yet to hang in it. I look forward to dialing and breaking it in because it's as stiff as a new boot. It's a pretty slic saddle but I've yet to get the WOW factor out of it. I suppose the lower CG will take a little while to get used to. Seems solid and I like the ablilty to rack gear everywhere under the sun. I am no longer a jingle warrior though. I learned to carry only that which is essential for the specific climb. I used to carry everything just incase. Incase never happened so I scaled back and climb my work plan with what I think will help and no more. The best saddle I ever owned was the Kolibri Hummingbird. It was tops but wore out quickly and unsafely. I loved the MCRS but all I was doing really was crane work. I hope to be pleasantly surprised with the TM. I almost never climb anymore. I got it basically for climbing at Geezers and such. More of a sunday drive than a weekly commute.

Here ya go Steve. I remove the side bungee, and simplify the rear bungee. You can choose where to attach both the upper and lower portion of the bungee so the leg pads ride where you like them. As far as length I tend to run the leg pads pretty low (just above the knees), and fairly loose (skater style). I like to find the sweet spot on the leg pads first, then find the sweet spot on the saddle to bridge adjustment.
Like you I am at the end of the waist adjustment. I ride my saddle pretty low on my hips, and try not to tighten the waist belt to much. Coming from the MC with the big tongue buckle, it will take some time to get comfy with the TM. I find the back pad on the TM to ride better than any other saddle I have worn, but The TM does take quite a bit of time to get dialed in.
Like Mr Beranek said, we break into a new saddle, not visa versa.
