Reed I gotta ask. What’s your gripe with the mcrs? (Current issues notwithstanding). No aggression or malice intended—i respect your opinion as an arborist on most things, so I’m just curious. As someone who has been using for 2.5 years and really enjoying it. Also treemtion owner and user. Thanks reed

Rope is round and it digs in. No one needs that much motion. I hurt my lower back just trying it out. It’s very low tech and not worth the money.

One of the interesting aspects of this is the power of social media. How corporations feel compelled to distance or disassociate themselves from people expressing views that may cause displeasure amongst people who are likely to voice their opinions.

I have thought about employees saying things that might be offensive to a customer and thought I might have to pretend to fire them.

This is the last thing I am gonna say about the topic.

Treestuff isn't liberal or conservative. We don't have a religion or a lack of it. We certainly don't censor people and absolutely believe in everyone's individual rights. We are a gear shop, not a platform for rhetoric or philosophical discussion.

The topic of women's equality isn't political and it isn't a debate.
If you want to do business with the store I run, you will observe that.

This is pure BS. Like the princess and the pea. I Went from a TM to the MCRS and it is not possible to feel the rope through the thickness that the saddle is made from. If you hurt your back it was not from that. The simplicity of design does not detract from the function of this saddle, it adds to it.

The rope CAN be felt through the padding and I hurt my back from the excessive mobility of the saddle. I turned to my right in suspension and couldn’t get out of it. F that piece of junk. Notice I’m not advocating another one that’s better... just saying F the MCRS...

Try yoga baby back :p

My needs might be different than others but TS still gives me great service. I'll agree that they have been out of stock a lot more but I still get my stuff in a timely fashion. If I have an issue I call and it gets dealt with. Things have changed and I have purchased elsewhere, but I still end up with most of my orders going through them.
Thanks again for a response to my email Nick. Got another one coming tomorrow morning.

Thanks reed. I gotta say the low tech is one of the major draws for me. I feel like i paid for something well made and resilient, not for extra flash. I respect your opinion, but mine is so comfortable that my tre emotion is a rarely used back up (that I also love).
Anyway, thanks for sharing.

Reed I make two of you and then some weight wise, and I don't feel the rope. I climbed for years on the saddle that inspired the MCRS which only had a 3" waistbelt of single thickness leather. THAT one you could feel the rope. Your TM may be your ticket, but I'll never know cause those skinny assed euorpeans don't make it big enough for us big boy 'mericans. If I ever need another saddle, I might have to see about a custom Monkey Beaver.

The NT MB is a good harness designed by a real tree man with good morals and values. Good call, Eric. So much wrong with the Mucho Crappo Rope (horse) Saddle.

I gotta say, I don't own a mcrs or care who stocks them or not but I read some of the things Matt wrote and it just sounds batshit crazy to be honest. Kinda like he got into some bad LSD or something. Straight up old testament kinda shit. Gave me a whole new outlook on the guy (who I've never met)
Matts been a great friend for over well over a decade. I love the guy like a brother and have driven across the country with him and climbed numerous trees with him.
And yes he has done way too much LSD. Kindest person you'll meet and he will give you the shirt off his back. But yes he consumed a lot of LSD in his younger days as well as lots of other drugs. His mind goes to some weird places. On a long road trip he can make one sentence go on for 100 miles. When he starts talking about god and what not, I just learned to open the gates on both ears and keep driving or doing whatever it is Im doing. I think God is better for him than LSD was. The internet is probably not the best place for someone like him to be. I know this whole thing is tearing him up right now.

Matt was telling me that he in no way wanted his name on the saddle. He had a whole range of names picked out for it. Tree stuff insisted that it be called the Matt Cornell saddle. This had the effect of associating the saddle with him and his Facebook rants. Which is truly just very unfortunate. The whole thing makes me very sad.

I appreciate the humanity of Matt that you're describing, @treebing . Nowhere do you address the right of women to equal and fair treatment. I think we all should keep it clear that a person's problems do not serve as an excuse to treat others - and *so many* others - so poorly. Matt may be complicated, but let's not complicate gender rights in response to that.

I guess my feeling is that its a shame that the saddle becomes the same thing as a the person. I know matt had objections to the saddle being marketed as the Matt Cornell rope saddle. its a saddle, it is not Matt. the good Amish folks at weaver who make the leg pads for the MCRS also believe strange things about woman's rights. good thing they don't have facebook....
