Ok thank you, another question since the standard isn't to specific, when climbing a tree can you ascend with just one lanyard? But before you preform any work I know you must be secured with a climbing line and a work positioning lanyard.
I think as long as one of those reaches the ground, that would be fine...right? The key is you need a way to get to the ground quickly and safely.Yes, as long as you are secured to the tree at all times. It is a good practice to be tied in as much as possible but it's up to the discretion of the climber .
That is until you are cutting, then you need two points of attachment whether that is two climb lines, or climb line and lanyard. I am not sure if two lanyards is sufficient while cutting, only if there is no safe TIP above I would think. In that case you should be set up so you can rappel off one of them, such as an adjustable friction saver or the like. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

As long as company policy exceeds ANSI. If it required a lower standard than ANSI, I don't think that claim flies...which is what I think you are saying.Company policy would supersede ANSI. Some companies require 2 or 3 flip lines on your saddle at all times ???
