What are some fun things to do once in the canopy?

Look for Tree Snakes ? ? ? (or other critters ! )

Last year (2016) I was on the Canopy Walkway, at Holden Arboretum, located at 9550 Sperry Road, Kirtland, Ohio.
This is a 500’ long elevated walkway built 65’ above the forest floor. (Wood structure with steel cable suspension)
I stopped at one point to speak to a arboretum volunteer, who pointed out a tree snake sunning itself in a union, approx. 30 ft from the walkway.
I had binoculars, and lent them to the volunteer & several other visitors.

I was told the snake was in the same union Last Year !

I would love to see than thing Climb ! Especially with a full belly ! ! !

Also nearby is the "Emergent Tower" which allows guests climb above the trees to a height of 120 feet where on a clear day you can see all the way to Lake Erie. (approx 10 miles away, and ~ 30 miles East of Cleveland)

Something I've been thinking about for a next level rec climbing activity is to start climbing at sunrise and see how far you can traverse horizontally tree-to-tree through the woods in one day. Rules are as follows: everything technique-wise is more or less fair game except no assists from the ground, climb as high or as low as needed, feet can't touch the ground. I'm thinking this can be done different ways: solo or as a team of two or three.

Edit: I took the "I" out of it ;-)

There no I in Team, just and M and E.

How about, do a little spelunking? (technically treelunking)

This tree top hollow starts at 34 ft above the ground. It is large enough to facilitate a rappel down inside the tree all the way to the soil below.

Obviously everyone doesn't have access to a tree this unique, but it is an experience that my favorite rec. climb tree offers me.

Not me, that looks like a "hold my beer" kind of adventure that ends with the fire department apologizing for cutting into your leg during the rescue. :sorprendido3:
