When we hosted the Buzzers group down in Greensboro last November the guys and I stressed the importance of transparency. We also talked a lot about the new brand and products that we were developing then we gave them a look under the hood at a number of new projects.

The Notch Equipment brand was launched at the TCI Show however not everyone made the show and I've seen a few comments this week in various threads about Notch products. As a result, Nick suggested I kick off this thread to explain what we're up to.

The Notch Equipment brand is being developed internally and is operated alongside SherrillTree and TreeStuff as its own independent brand. The product line is being designed and developed by a small experienced team of product managers and engineers based around the USA.. Some products are licensed and some will be internally developed. We're making them with leading manufacturers and partners both in the US and abroad, and all projects are being lead by a focused manager with a goal of making Notch a great trustworthy brand.

This team is also leveraging extensive input from a crew of pro, working arborists and partners that torture test and destroy our prototypes then propose ideas for improvements every day.

Notch products carry a Lifetime Warranty, but more importantly, no other brand is backed by our crew of experienced tree climbers and certified arborists that contribute to making awesome solutions specifically for this industry and trade.

You’ll definitely find Notch products in our web stores and hopefully through our retail partners at a growing rate over the coming months. Regardless of where you buy them, our guys are making great stuff that I hope you'll try.

Products that exist i think notch could improve on:
Bucket scabbard. Only one company I know of makes and awesome scabbard.

Mini fuel / bar oil cans for people who work right of ways or way deep in the woods. Something you could clip to a saddle or chaps. Something better then a tin water bottle is what I'm thinking of.

Rope snaps with carabiner sized spine. Isc makes one, kong make one, and I've had short lived experiences with both. The spring that would make the gate close would get played out and they always go from double action to no action, they just flip open. And I'm fairly kind to them

In just gunna keep posting things as they come, but you better write my name down Mr wyckoff cuz one of them will be gold haha. Thanks for your post

Way to go @Tripp Wyckoff :vomito: I just read whole bunch of nothing. Proof is in the pudding.
  1. leg mounts missed the mark nothing new solution
  2. wedge, yard armour is same old same old
  3. dolley fair attempt to compete with others
Nobody cares about your "small experienced team of product managers and engineers or your "crew of pro, working arborists " What we care about is the best product, an improved product at a fair price.
Either way we are listening and hope to see some positive change.

The mats have done really well. WE started with a batch of 100 and they have been abused by a group of early testers and customers alike. They are slightly lighter than alturna mats at .3mm thinner but just as tough. I like the new red color as well. They should be in and shipping by Feb 20.

Levi, try and be positive man! We are just guys and girls trying to earn a living here, all the while doing our best to openly and honestly communicate with our customers.

Brandon, Albert and I are all arborists, Brandon and Albert are both taking CA tests this year actually. As for the arborists working on the Notch product line, well a lot of them are here on the buzz and all over!

In all Honesty notch should not be the name of the Xrigging rings. David worked hard to get these thing out and then you guys come in a put a big notch logo on them. Not cool in my opinion. They should have been branded Xrigging rings and that's it.
