Compact Bulldog Bone

Similar to anodized possibly don't know the process of Neptune completely ,but it sounds promising
NEPTUNE® chain resists corrosion when exposed to harsh outdoor environments, including seawater. The exclusive NEPTUNE surface treatment process gives the chain its unique matte grey color and provides a protective finish that is more corrosion resistant than Nickel-Plated chains. NEPTUNE chain has the same high maximum allowable load as our standard carbon steel roller chain.

The Neptune process Gordon mentioned is for the chain links that bind the body of the bone together. I was wondering more about the actual body like Kevin has done for the Rope Runner. That would give some color options and possibly help with corrosion in salty air environments. The corrosion probably depends on the type of aluminum used but I know my Petzl Sequoia has corrosion on certain areas with aluminum parts. Of course that could add to the cost of the bone significantly I'd guess.

lookin good
Feel safe on it so that's huge.. I can deal with any of the little stuff as long as I'm confident in the gear and this piece makes me feel very confident in that respect ..the 11.7 creeped and creeped some more ..the imori runs nice n tight .. I wanna change bollards and dail in the next few days ..I'm a little over 200 lbs so release at first wasn't smoothest interface for me on imori .had to put enough pressure that I feel like if I climbed all day I better wear gloves for some cushion ...but I only put ten minutes on it before dark ..tomorrows another day and time will tell ..overall very excited to get more time on it .. Super cool tool

If you don't have one already don't forget about the swivel on the bridge that Oceans mentions earlier in the thread. Really helps with the smoothness of descent.

I'm love how compact it is ..hardly any sit back.. Might need tending pin in for 3:1 to keep my hand from getting rubbed unless I find better hand positioning..I'm used to RW with hitch climber pulley so that's like smooth as butter to haul my ass back up ..didn't get that smooth interface I'm used to , but I've found I'm very adaptable this is just another thing to adapt to.

Aaron, try the smaller bollard or even no bollard if it is gripping too much on the Imori.

Mike, it works DdRT if you clip the standing end back into you bridge, you will need as little friction as possible at the TIP. You can set it up to be self advancing on a doubled rope but this requires a prussic to tend the Bone. (see my previous videos in this thread)

I prefer a textile link between the Bone and the mini 'biner. I made one out of heavy throw line and used quadruple scaffold knots to form the loop connection. I wrapped red tape around the scaffolds, and girthed the loop into the Bone so that the scaffolds are oriented closest to me. The scaffolds keeps the loop nice and wide open for super easy attachment into my 'swingdude' chest harness.

How long is the loop oceans ..couple of inches or...?
