When he tried to turn his hand the wrong fucking way, I thought he was gonna break his wrist. What a jackass move.
Not like the speed line was used like a speed line anyway. Lazy climber. The laughing about it is pretty lame too. Put what appears to be a green guy on the end of the speedline and tell them to hold on for a top, then laugh about rope burns!?
They very first thing I teach the new guys is how to hold a rope. I am really worried about that guy.The laughing about it is pretty lame too. Put what appears to be a green guy on the end of the speedline and tell them to hold on for a top, then laugh about rope burns!?
Stupid is as stupid does
I had a guy whom I told take a wrap on porty for a speed line top and he acknowledged ok as he would do it. It was not clear sight line so I was not aware he didn’t . Always ready check before back cut . Ready response over coms. Commence the cut .. Mfer took no wrap , no idea why , got yanked of course .. said he was ok at the time , then wanted to claim workman’s comp 2 days said later he suffered hernia from the incident!

He was experienced and climbed for years , so he was not unaware of the fact the top with the drop involved if not pretensioned correctly ,will cause a rowdy shake and more dynamic forces than any limb under the rigging point. It was not a big piece at all.
That just makes it more ridiculous for him to ehine about it after the fact. He knew he fucked up.He was experienced and climbed for years , so he was not unaware of the fact the top with the drop involved if not pretensioned correctly will cause a rowdy shake and more dynamic forces than any limb under the rigging point
Yea zip lines cause a lot of force any slack in the line will just add insult to injuryThat just makes it more ridiculous for him to ehine about it after the fact. He knew he fucked up.
Damn, how did that all play out with the injury etc?Stupid is as stupid does

Really tough situation! I don’t wanna air it out there too much, but avoid letting someone push for a claim if you aren’t 100 percent sure about it! As a business owner I felt like I really took it on the chin. I did not think the way we worked after it was possible it occurred from what happened , but felt bullied into it at the time. Hindsight it should’ve never went down how it did . I learned valuable lessons about life , business , people. Glad it’s many years behind me now. Never had a claim ever before or after ! High risk program for 5 years after a claim here in NJ I believe it was. Varies state to state I think , if a claim is made.Damn, how did that all play out with the injury etc?
Spot on Evo tight linesThere is a line for sure but ultimately the business owner is 100% responsible for the employee. Even if they are making a dumb call contrary to what was specified.
The way around that is firing them for not following instructions. It’s a tightrope walk
