Zig zag rope

I'm sure you can. At least once.

I'm not a Zig Zag user, but whether your use will be MRS and/or SRS might have a bearing on how it performs with a slightly undersized rope. If SRS, which supplemental device?

I have been using Blue Craze, which is also known as Cherry Bomb, with the ZigZag for quite some time with no issues. I believe that is technically a 7/16” rope, but I don’t know what it measures out to exactly.

Edit: The internet says Blue Craze is a 11.2 mm rope.

I've used velocity blaze and the thinner ce lanyard with my 1st generation zz with no problems

My first generation zigzag creeps with Yale Focus which is an 11.7. My favorite rope with my Gen 2 zigzag is the fat Petzl rope. I like the firmness.
Ya mine is possibly retired now. Used it about 5 or so years and noticed creep on thinner lines then recently it started creeping on my Yale ivy. I Def got my money's worth out of it and will likely get a new one. But I love the old ones man...

I love my ZZ with all sorts of Tachyon ropes but do folks need also consider their weight (mine about 200 geared up) and also (bigger factor) what's on top? I've used various pinto's and rings, etc. on branch savers but have now ended up just going back to Weaver leather branch savers (both stitched models and one homemade velcro closure jobby a la Mumford). With the leather ones anyway, I have smooth control in 1/4" increments if I want it. The more friction there is in the branch saver, the less your prussik or mechanical sees - Richard also has an AdTube video on this if I remember.

Yes, I definitely consider weight (I'm 325+ before gear) and use (most of the time anyways) a fimbl saver. My prefered rope is either bluemoon or the 11.6 sterling scion (which is fantastic btw) that behaves like a bigger rope since it doesn't compress and flatten out
