Here ya go.
It's done with the appropriate size eye & eye wire rope choker. The 1st end is choked to the eye using a screw pin shackle. We usually leave the other eye in the hook at this point, just to keep the extra weight above us. (Easier to work with the choker that way).

We then take the other choker eye off the hook and place the middle of the choker back on the hook. Another screw pin shackle is secured the the choker 180* or opposite the other "choke". It's very important to cut notches for the choker 90* from the "choke" points. It's also very important to get the "chokes" as close to opposite one another as possible' This will ensure a straight lift of the log. If the "chokes" are not directly opposite, the log will be cocked when lifted.

You can see by the last pic why it is important to cut notches for the choker. If notches were not cut, the choker wood slide off the log.
We then have the crane operator snug up the cable and check for "plumb" before making the cut.
