I wear danner vicious 4.5 when climbing spike less and danner quarry loggers for removals. Both have held up extremely well

Dude, just make a foot strap, don't need the clip step then. I made mine out of the ankle strap from an old foot ascender. Works great.

I mostly wear chainsaw boots. Arbortec scafells. Best ones I've had. Chainsaw boots are a bit more expensive than the arb pros, but you get protection, and I have had my planner zermatts for like three fucking years. They are ugly now, but a little shoe goo makes them useable.

Trangos when climbing, Red Wing loggers or Chippewa loggers when on hooks. And I agree with Mac, get a foot strap.
