Yale Scandre knots

So, my little brother has taken an interest in climbing, and as such I gave him my old (relative) length of Fly, and got myself a length of Scandre. I love climbing it, but the one gripe I have is its lack of knotability. My prefered knot for a quickie is a anchor hitch, but I don't feel confident in its ability to hold that knot. Does anyone have a knot that they prefer for this type of rope? Thanks

When i base tie with it i use a retraced "8". It is the only knot i would trust on the rope in that use. RB with yosemite can still work loose IMO.

Yes, the 48 braid of the Scandere doesn't interlock sufficiently with itself. Yale should've made up each strand with more filaments (which would give the rope braid more prominence) and given each strand at least a 180 twist.
But, thee worst thing about the rope is how atrociously it flattens causing slippage in the ZZ and knots... ugh, it's infuriating.

I haven't even tried putting weight on a knot of it. Maybe at least give it a triple with the fisherman's knot.

I guess excessive is relative to ones's past bad experience with such a rope in the Zag.
I see that this purple Scandere is looking very similar, (on the mid and bottom the the knot) to the dreaded view of the neon yellow Scandere flattened in my Zag. Which 80% of the time causes the rope to creep in the Zag, which is infuriating when you notice you're creeping when you start to cut.

I'm going to have to dig out my ZigZag this week and run it on my (red) Scandere to see how awful it is.
Yes, I’d like to know about this test.
And maybe see a video of trying to get it to creep, because with my old worn Beal Access 11mm rope, it will not creep even if I try to have it self creep after slowing collapsing the zag, try to have it continue creeping after I release my touch.
Maybe my neon yellow Scandere is defective in that the cover is not tight enough over the core or the core is lacking material. Causing it to flatten more than it should.
Which is my firm belief why it is creeping.

Alright with all this BS scandere talk, can some one tell me what the actual bounce is of this rope? Say compared to a yale 11.7 or Xstatic? All this crap almost has me buying a hank, just to see how f'en horrible this rope is for myself

More bounce than yale 11.7 without a doubt. Never tried xstatic. I don't find it to be a huge deterrent, but then again the trees here aren't too tall

Yes it does have more bounce than xstatic, but a pretty great rope. I switch back and forth from xstatic and scandere. It feels very nice in the hand and works well for me with a BDB. One of my guys runs a RRP and enjoys it. He claims it does suck in MRS which I have never tried. Biggest gripe with it is it does seem to pick quicker than I’d like. It is really like anything else in the world, it’s either for you or it isn’t. I vote you give it a try and see how you go.
