I am glad I am past my all red gear phase, cuz I definitely don't need another RRP at the moment. That looks sickSo I ended up buying a red/black color schemed one from Monarch Ropes for $329 shipped. That seemed like a hell of a sale so bit the bullet and got it. The unique color helped sway me too. These damn tree gear manufacturers sure got my number.

That looks very nice. I have a pinkish one which is Treepunk. Unfortunately it sits unused as it does not like any of the ropes I am using presently. Think a brand new yale 11.7 would be a good rope to break it in.....So I ended up buying a red/black color schemed one from Monarch Ropes for $329 shipped. I use the 11.7 lines. Currently have hyper climb for my long rope and blue moon for my mid and short ropes. I've been using the hhxf for the last couple years and don't exactly want to swap but I feel like I should be familiar with some of the more commonly seen devices in the field. Expand my horizons in a mildly expensive way. I hope I like it. I also decided to compete in the local comp next year and the hhxf is not on the approved list...so here we are.Think a brand new yale 11.7 would be a good rope to break it in.....
Yes go meet Beau Nagan. Awesome chap. He cleans up every year. Lucky his brother Cormac lives in NC otherwise it would be a battle of hammers. You will love the rrpro. Tends slack like no other. Nice to get out the comfort zone. Comps are truly a place to learn neat tricks. AR is really special.I use the 11.7 lines. I know Beau pretty well. He's a good dude. Got the competition down to a science at this point. I usually help setup the event and tree tech the ascent event and masters. I had enough competitors/friends berate me into competing next year so I'm going to humor them lol. I know my MO and its a choke artist when things get competitive lol. I'm skilled when it comes to doing work but once you start timing me and putting rules to it, the wheels fall off the wagon pretty quickly!Yes go meet Beau Nagan. Awesome chap. Cormac could climb on a blake's with a dogsnap tender and still win. He is that good. Silent but deadly. Think he still works at Heartwood in Charlotte with my friend Simon Zimmerman.I know Beau pretty well. He's a good dude. Got the competition down to a science at this point. I did the trail run for AR on the setup day this year...all I can say is I have a lot of work to do to prep for that event.
Cormac came out to compete in the IL comp 2 years ago I think it was....kinda cleaned house with the most basic equipment.
Also, it takes awhile in the competitive setting to feel comfortable. 1st one will be the eye opener.I know Beau pretty well. He's a good dude. Got the competition down to a science at this point. I believe it. If I'm not mistaken, for the ascent event he footlocked, but since he had none of his gear he somehow used the extra tail of the rope to tie the footlock prussic. I might be remembering that wrong but he did something funky that passed inspection.Cormac could climb on a blake's with a dogsnap tender and still win. He is that good. Silent but deadly.
