Oh And 1 thing that makes me like a camp quick link more is I can put it on and off without taking off my gloves. Can't tell ya how many times Ive dropped a glove or both messing around with a quickie.ive got a locking shackle that I use instead of a quickie, just a pain in the ass in a tree
im just looking to save 5 bucks, a quickie isnt that expensive new lol
ill probably just order one new
yupAre you using it for a choking set up during SRT?
I use a quickie.....every day as a crown anchor. Own 3 singing tree ones milled from solid stock. Love them. Are you using it for a choking set up during SRT? I think I’d prefer a rated gate biner over the quickie, I bought a quickie because they’re all the rage, hardly ever use it…… (still not for sale either)
Don’t get me wrong: I see their value, and I do use mine, just not life changing for me….I use a quickie.....every day as a crown anchor. Own 3 singing tree ones milled from solid stock. Love them.
Ĺots of crown anchors Chris. Never side load a biner BTW. No deal nreaker but I great strong choice for daily grind. Bombproof.Don’t get me wrong: I see their value, and I do use mine, just not life changing for me….
I don’t use carabiners in a choked configuration in my climbing system, ever. I was only suggesting an ANSI rated gate to the kid if that’s what he was using it for…Ĺots of crown anchors Chris. Never side load a biner BTW. No deal nreaker but I great strong choice for daily grind.
This kid needs instruction. Been reading his posts. Seems a tad snotty in the nose. But hey he is very young so I let it slide.I don’t use carabiners in a choked configuration in my climbing system, ever. I was only suggesting an ANSI rated gate to the kid if that’s what he was using it for…
You look pretty young in your profile picture! (Haha)This kid needs instruction. Been reading his posts. Seems a tad snotty in the nose. But hey he is very young so I let it slide.
Yeah I tried to tell him about the quick links...I have quite a few that I bought before I got a couple quickies. I always keep a quick link on my belt. I like that I can set them up without having to take my gloves off.Maybe I'd like a quickie if I had one, but I'm content using 1/2" screw links (aka quick links, Maillon Rapids,...) l like them for uses with the potential for side loading, gate loading or torquing. I like the 1/2" size as I can swipe the gate with my hand a couple of times to quickly open or close it most of the way. I only close them hand tight and never had an issue with one backing off.
I quite using that setup a long time ago, and that was only as an SRT backup while on spurs, set up so if that ever gets load im in a situation where ruining a biner is the last thing I care aboutI was only suggesting an ANSI rated gate to the kid if that’s what he was using it for…
