World\'s 8th Largest Tree

Just took another crack at photographing Lost Monarch, Coast Redwood, the 8th largest tree known. May be the 7th largest, actually. This may be my favorite redwood photo so far. Just did a 16" x 20" test print that came out better than expected. From my signature page, is a blog where I posted a brief observation report on the condition of this grove now that it's seen a few visitors the past couple of years.

Wow! that is huge. Pretty girl too. Maybe you could put elf ears on her to make the tree look smaller?

I'd live in that tree with the pixies!

At least from a distance, we can pretend the pixie theme.

Closeup ... less fairytale looking.

I should see if the local costume shop has appropriate ears sometime and give it a go to see how it works out.

Re: World\'s 8th Largest Tree

Galadriel would be a proper elvish feminine name for her...

Fantastic pics as usual Mario!
