Working over the front of the crane

[ QUOTE ]
All of the crane operators I know always tell me to avoid working off of the front of the crane. Any comments?

If it were me I wouldn't work off the front just so if something broke of it wouldn't land on the cab.

If it were close enough to hit the cab you could probably set up to work off the rear. The reason I usually work off the front is for reach and so I can set the wood in the truck and the brush will end up near the chipper.
