Whats up with Petzl?

I've made a couple of different orders with different distibuters in the past month and both of them have my Petzl merchandise on back order. Is it just a coincidence or is there some reasoning behind this inconvenience.

Ran into the same thing with them last year when trying to get in Squoia saddles for guys. I believe Petzl has or makes specific production runs at specific times of year and anticipates gross sales volumes and they are off ocassionally or people buy more than the run made. I may be wrong but this is what a fly on the wall said

The joy of JIT manufacturing, as long as the forecast is correct then there's product if it's out then your screwed....
