Left it, the tree wasn't really on the docket I had broken a branch in it removing another tree. So had to go up. Wasn't in a yard, just next to a yard in city woods.

I once tore a large piece of bark off a dying cottonwood, to find a bat hidden between the bark and cambium. That was pretty cool. Flying squirrels are always pretty cool to find as well. Cut some different bullets in half before, just my luck to find the one stray bullet in a tree with my freshly sharpened saw...

Mac's post reminded me of something I found earlier this summer. I think it was actually a road kill that someone threw into the tree judging by how flat it was and it's proximity to the road but that's just a guess...
