What's the weirdest stuff you've found in trees?

I really want to say a pair of thong underwear and a used condom but it would be a lie.

I have seen lots of bras and thongs in trees while snowboarding. Lots of ski resorts in Ontario have a "bra or underwear tree" along side the chairlift. Maybe this is just a Canadian thing?!

Somebody, I believe it was Frax, told me a story about a guy finding a cannonball grown into a tree he was removing. Found it by cutting into it, then having the piece saved once he got it out of the tree, and split. ThInk it was from like war of 1812 era.

A friend who is a logger told me a sawmill here in Ontario hit a cannonball in a log while sawing it into lumber.

I see them in all the New England area ski resorts. Been thinking about saving a pair of my "Trusty Crusties", from a really tough day of climbing, to add to one of the collections someday to help round it out a little.

Sure was, street tree near a high rise college dormitory. Most likely thrown from the balcony . Must have been a good party

64 babies nappies!..(used) in a plane tree under a block of flats in a particularly nasty neighbourhood in south of France... Also remember finding (almost) full set of pots and pans in a tree when I was a kid!

This morning I found a claw hammer grown into a Silver Maple crotch, about 12' up. Thankfully saw the claw before I hit it with the saw.

Not technically in a tree but I once hit a buried engine block when I was stumping out an old pine tree. It was really weird because it was right in the city in an old residential neighbourhood. I could understand if it was at an old farm or something but this was in someone's backyard! The thing must have been buried for 50 yrs.
