what makes you the most money.

Dollar for dollar it would have to be my spurs. I bought them in 1989 for $120 and still use them today.

License, insurance, and my ISA cert. Most of work i do is for people that are sticklers about having those things. So with out those I'd have way less work

I was amazed at the increase in profits that came with a larger chipper, a truck that could hold a large load of chips (reduces travel time in a congested area) and a mini skid. I'm all about doing fine pruning work and being a minimalist, but if you're in it to make a profitable operation I just don't see the point in running only small equipment.... been there and won't be returning.

No one has mentioned TreeBuzz? Since there's no 'purchase price' it seems like any value garnered would be a great value.

There are some great ideas in this thread. Kind of a confirmation of some of the things that most of us have intuitively thought made us money but don't know that for sure.

As a guy who started from scratch 28 years ago with a pickup truck and 2 chainsaws, EVERY purchase has been a money maker. My first chip truck, chipper, stump grinder, bucket truck; every one of them sent production through the roof. More recently, my best purchases have been the mini loader and the Spider Lift.

Didn’t really have anything to say on this topic till now but,TreeBuzz and the forums for sure have put a lot of the fun back in tree work for me, because I’m learning new things. That has had me motivated to do more work and make more money.

Tom I think the Buzz is so valuable that I want to see it always be available. I’m a firm believer in the guy who has something I want being every bit or more motivated in the deal than I am. Have you considered ideas for providing a way for people who get immense value from TreeBuzz to compensate TreeBuzz?

Actually...the best thing that everyone can do is support our sponsors.

If you're going to order gear from a sponsor be sure to access their homepage via their link over on the right. That's a sure-fired way for them to show that they're getting value for their sponsorship.
