What is up with the ad's?

If there are any fly outs going on please let me know. I hope it's all functioning properly now?

Levi, sorry for the animated ads. It's just the creators trying to find d different ways to get your attention and stand out in a more interesting or valuable way.

This kind of thing (increasing and animating ad space to increase returns) can have a reverse effect. When the adds make the webpage hard to concentrate then people will make various adjustments. Some may just not spend as much time here, others like me will find a simple work around. I used "Ctrl +" to increase the text size till the flashing crap (what used to be interesting adds) disappeared from the viewable area.

Not trying to be an ass, just pointing out that this kind of thing can backfire.

Totally agree. I avoid the buzz on my computer and only tend to check in via my phone. I don’t really even seem to think about it, it’s just default. Occasionally when I want to reply I will start on my phone then edit via computer.. the ads certainly have an adverse effect... I’d much prefer a sponsor list, even with logos over the flashing crap.

I appreciate that. I will also offer an alternative mindset- what if you look at the ads as being beneficial to you in that they are directly responsible for supporting the space that you are enjoying? The truth is the ads keep the site up and running. I'm sure you and everyone else understand that everything costs money to produce and maintain, so the choice is ask the members to foot the bill or ask companies to do it and give them "value" in exchange for their support. I'll also point out some sponsors are members here as well.

I always did look at the ads in just that manner (beneficial and supportive of the site), and have used them to make purchases in the past. That said for me the animated adds are not something I focus on as they are mainly distracting not inviting....however I am probably a lot older than the average member age..... so perhaps its more effective with the younger generation, or I am just becoming less tolerant of things....wait, I gotta run those damned kids waiting for the school bus are on my grass again :)

Again, I can appreciate that. Just tell me what ads you don't like and I'll get rid of them. Just let me know where to send the invoice :LOL::LOL:
Cute. However on a serious note, what is the price difference on a animated ad vrs a still? What if we set up a donation pool to offset the lost revenue of keeping the AdDs still

I thought it was kinda cute  I don't think that is an easy hurdle to tackle. Everywhere you go, no matter the app or the website, there's animated ads of some sort. It's just what's hot now I guess. I have not seen any of them offer a "non-animated" rate. I check regularly to be honest. Most have even switched to full screen ads that disrupt you're reading until a time elapsed.
