What happened to the Matt Cornell Rope Saddle?

Female perspective is largely missing in this thread (excepting the FB posts and Hooters tangent), and that needs to be heard for this to be a valid discussion. However, what female is going to invest time and energy on people who seek to invalidate their intrinsic personhood? This thread is, in part, an echo chamber.

Since my name was dropped in here I feel like I should say something.
I rarely talk about gender issues because I've seen that women who do, get a reputation for being prickly and difficult to work with, whether true or not. I've had nothing but great relationships with men I've worked with.

I've had tree dudes call me any number of names and even had a threat of violence over random online issues I may have commented on. Being a "commie cunt" and"feminazi" are probably the most colourful. I don't even think I'm particularly provocative but you never know what's going to set someone off.

I always considered Matt a good dude, and my limited interactions with him were positive.
I was a little astounded he called me a feminazi over a comment I made over a silly biblical meme (a caveman with a sexy cavewoman unconscious and slung over his shoulder with the claim that God made Eve for Adam and not the other way around). I didn't know he was a religious fundamentalist who believes that men have dominion over women. He also asserted he would never take direction from a woman, apparently on religious grounds. I'm well aware there are a fair chunk of men including other trees guys who think this too. Not my business, and I didn't press it. Religious zealots are all over. I usually try not to poke them.

It seemed as if he got into hot water over supporting someone else's comment that looked like it was saying that women are to be looked on as slaves. That wasn't quite what was said. It was shitty grammar and lack of a single crucial comma. I actually defended him online against that particular thing, but his wife and others had come to the conclusion that I was on a witch hunt. My whole involvement was a few comments related to that stupid meme.

I have no idea what transpired between Matt and Treestuff and it's none of my business. I certainly had nothing at all to do with it.

Nora, I'm sorry you have to keep explaining and defending yourself. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and beliefs and as long as those are repeated and stated accurately it should be okay.
What I have a problem with is believing that marketing decisions were made based on some sort of high moral ground resulting in you and Matt and other parties getting sucked into the aftermath.

Not to belittle the current discussion but it would be great if someone with the ability could fill this void in the tree workers harness selection. It is not a complex harness and very functional.

You didn't. I'm not blaming you for anything. But, since you mentioned my name and at least one person was interested in a woman's perspective, I gave it. I took the opportunity to defend myself because there is so much second hand and third hand talk generated and I have reason to believe that some people think I had a hand in whatever went down.

@deevo I want to ask you and the northern guys riding NT. I'm contemplating an MB or Onyx this spring.
The MCRS has been dragged through the mud with politics and I want to give mine a break before the leg pads or other non replaceable parts wear out. Probably set the MCRS up for prunings and a NT for removals. You boys have been riding NT for a while now. How well are they wearing? Is there anything you dislike or would change, (I doubt it)?
I do have an industrial sewing machine and a waist belt that I could pad up and build a saddle. I think I may just look into NT.

Really not a tough decision. I spent enough time to know an Onyx was not for me. True story- One of my pups chewed the shiit out of my beloved TreeMo Light so I was in the market. It came down to taking a chance on a Cornell, a Beaver, or another TreeMo. I really liked the design ideas on the Beaver which addressed my major complaints about the Onyx so I pulled the trigger. In my humble opinion it is the best real world work saddle I have ever had the privilege of riding. Nuff said. Mack the Beav!

Rico summed it up, I’ve had mine since it came out, have the MCRS suspenders for the bigger saws when doing Crane removals, the CT rollnlock adjustable bridge ( more less for SRT) I’ve had them all , and this by far is the best all round harness for tree work. Not one bad thing to say!

I’ve got the DMM small swivel on my bridge as well, highly recommend it as well!

Sometimes you have to give those Tri Glide buckles a little locking loop or tuck up the ends with a Speedy Stitcher.

Richard just answered the question, but since we work in the winter, and have layers the waist belt band I’ve just zip tied to hold it tighter, I was going to stitch it to my liking but need to tighten and loosen in a regular basis. That’s done the trick for me

With so many products not being offered by TS now, I wonder if dropping the harness was just a convenient excuse to get out of an agreement. TS seems to be transitioning to just selling products that sell the most, not like before. A recent example that I noticed is they no longer have Bailout. ????

It's a hitch cord from Samson's that has a Technora core and cover. It has a break strength of now 4200 #, and doesn't have an approved hand splice. When needing a smaller diameter lanyard, I've replaced the core with 1/4" dyneema, which is stronger and can be hand spliced. The Technora is much better than nylon, which I first used.
