What camera is the best?

Hi guys. I miss you too. Been real busy lately and had to rearrange some priorities. I'll take the compliment above any day.

I'm waiting for a reasonably-priced digital body which I can stick my Contax Zeiss glass onto.

I just got a Cannon SD550 (7.1mp replacement of the 5mp version I broke). Let me find a camera and take a picture!

Shutter delay seems to be an important factor on choosing a camera. If they are anything above 5MP then the picture is going to be good...
... I like the look of this as it has wide angle and panorama stitch. Can't find any info on shutter delay though. Anyone got one??

An important factor in shot-to-shot time is the format you shoot in, and the internal processing. For smaller point-and-shoots, some of Canon's newer ones have the DigicII processing, which makes for really fast cycling between shots. The more you fill up your card, though (I'm pretty sure this is right) the slower things will get.
If you want wide angle, something you can consider is that with stitching, you can put together multiple shots while still using a longer lens. Within limits.
Someone had a link to a review on DPReview http://www.dpreview.com/ ,which is a great site to look around for information on cameras- though it takes a little time to get reviews on the newest cameras. Another good one is: http://www.dcresource.com/

Just 3.2 megapixels isn't bad either...

This is from 2" away - image attached...

But I will get more megapixels next time anyway.
