Well done reduction

Hey Mac, I found it on a facebook group I joined recently, Climbing Arborist International. Dont know what tree it is.

Geeez i did not even realise i added the UK standard's Annex C--I did NOT write that. Since it was written (2010), there has been NO evidence to show that coronet cutting encourages growth. It makes little sense, biologically. that theory does not pan out--unless someone can show positive results?
Trees naturally retrench, and regenerate, a new, interior crown. I hate that coronet cutting is tied to the concept, because it is used to attack it. That's what I get for cut-and-pasting a reference without debunking the inaccurate aspects. :(
I'll try to do better this year. crash, here's the poster that accompanied the talk--no egregious wounding done.

And here's an earlier version of the 1-hour presentation: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BwDLZFTEHeiBS3U1WlhPRFNhSUE/edit?usp=drive_web
Your oak had root issues--what was done for the roots?

Yeah, I have to say, and not trying to step on any toes here, the pruning job in that video looks like hammered shit. I never saw anything like that in the Arborists' Certification Study Guide. Interesting concept though. Curious to see the result of a rejuvenated tree from this process.

Thanks for the clarification Guy, I did not make that video (there's no way I would haved picked that song:vomito:) but I did ask for you what they did for the roots. With your permission I would gladly post what you just said here to the source where I got all this misinformation (climbing arborist international) I think it's important for them to know the difference between coronet and retrenchment. Unfortunately I was not able to open the links :muyenojado: but I've been fully entrenched :estudioso: with you website. I hope I can do what you do someday, but for now its, swing like Tarzan! minus the espalier.:ROFLMAO::coffe:.

ok thanks crash; i'll visit there myself; no need to quote or get into a fight; coronetting is a religion in some parts of the UK. Natural looking, yarrite...

it is SO difficult to be outrageous and different these days to be noticed or for whatever premise....regardless if what you state is substantiated or not....but some appear to pull it off :-(....as others often will buy into anything. 1185553_505058446255265_1359055613_n.webp
