Volunteer work on Arbor Day

Last Saturday was Arbor Day in Lexington.
One of the guys I work with organized a day of service in a part of town that doesn't get a lot of tree work done.

Seven companies agreed to help out for the day.

Afterward there was free food and drink at a local watering hole.

That was a great day!!! Too bad we didn't get any pictures of that nice Oak we climbed at the end of the day. That was one nice tree!!!

Noah, the guy I work with, made a lot of phone calls and talked to a lot of people.

All the credit goes to him. I took the pictures and helped prune out an enormous swamp white oak in the afternoon

Good to see RangerDanger out there doing work (besides the no helmet wearing, possibly no hearing protection wearing, chainsawing picture...you put that hat on young man!)

I love volunteer work days. It's cool that you guys planted trees along with pruning and removals. Very forward thing.

I admit, I goofed a bit there with no helmet. It was the end of the first job and we were taking a quick break, so I had my helmet off when Noah pulls up with the truck to load the wood onto. So everyone jumped in to help out and a few pieces needed cutting. So I grabed a saw and cut a few pieces. No aerial work of any kind was being performed.
