Hey whatta ya know, these are trees not palms, that's a first for Ekka hey. /forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Now, before ya'll go jump on me for PPE violations hear me out.

This was not my job and they aint my staff ... I sub out for this crowd every now and then. So it's not my fault they do what they do.

Yeah yeah, I nag them all about PPE etc and get up em but hey, it's like floggin a dead horse ... the soundtrack is fitting.

XXXX is a brewery in the middle of town here, they're expanding to keep up with demand.

Around 5.30mins and 27.5mb wmv

nice vid and good use of the mini loader, they are a excellent tool. One thing though either the timber on that tree is very hard or the climber needs to learn how to sharpen his saw!

so dont you feel that you were lowering your work ethics buy working alongside such people? or does that only apply when its someone else? just curious /forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Shoot I spend most of my time working with a non-PPE'd crew, I don't let it bother me. Frig em if they ain't got enough sense to suit up.
I liked that one lanyard climber. I guess he wasn't worried cuz he was so close to the ground. ;^)

Haha, I'll get to everyones questions.

Pete, I dont think I've ever seen that climber filing his saw in all the times I've worked there. I re-tuned it for him recently and he was very happy he didn't have to start it for every cut.

Steve, I'm embarrassed at times and wish I didn't have sign writing on my trailer, I look after myself as far as PPE and work goes but I cannot control the job site, that's beyond my scope, and there's no rules enforced down here for poor pruning, spiking prunes etc. The day will come though.

MB, the guy climbs with 2 lanyards, he does have a short rock climbing rope that also has seen better days. I dont understand why these guys dont invest in themselves or gear.

Sir Rat, if I were the boss I'd confiscate that lanyard.

When all is said and done this is probably one of the better crews around these parts. There's a lot worse. Perhaps now you can see what goes on in the real world and why the accident/injury rate is so high.

Ekka, I'm sorry, you have been seriously upstaged by "James, the Narcoleptic treecutter"...that is one of the funniest videos I have seen.

MB, you must have a LOT of free time on your hands to find that one.

We shouldn't mock the inflicted, but, recently on tv there was a program about narcolepsy. It showed a clip of the narcolepsy association AGM. What should have been a one hour meeting took nearly all day. Funniest thing I've seen for ages!

Ekka, that mini skid steer is a great tool, but a climber who can put stuff on the right side of the wall would be an even better investment.
