Vermmer sc130 good deal or waste of money

I just bought a used Vermeer Sc 130 stump grinder to get into those awkward spots. It was an impulse buy and I haven't had the chance to really use it yet. I was curious if anyone has had any experience with this little grinder? Will it serve me well in a tight spot or will it bog down and end up being a waste of time?

I own a SC130 and it works good on small jobs or those times when you have alot of small stumps on one property.
I also have a SC252 for the bigger jobs..
If need be you can bring it in the back of your pickup.
It will pay for itself b4 you know it.

Good Luck! it will keep you diversified..

Have you had to replace the pillow blocks on that 252 yet? I am trying to get the drive pulley off the axle and it is not moving. This is drive ping me nuts.

It's been years since I've used a small grinder like that. Doubt they've changed much.

For a small machine that WILL go anywhere, the 88 lb Alpine Magnum is far better. It will do any stump anywhere, though it is a pain to use, and teeth dull, chip or break easily. So, rocks must be avoided as much as is reasonably possible.
