The "operator presence system" otherwise known as the handles on my stump grinder are acting up on my Vermeer 372. Does anyone know of a way to disable or override the handles so that you don't have to be touching them 100% of the time. I know the down sides to this so I don't really need a safety lecture please...

something we recently discovered is that when starting the machine, keep your hands off the controls. After the machine starts up, then you can put your hands on the controls and the machine recognizes the operator better.

Maybe a little difference but nothing too helpful, not your fault though, thanks for the tip. I wish I could just jump a wire or something to avoid it altogether

I upgraded the controls to the new version offered by vermeer. Fixed the problem. Not a bypass. All operational functions and safety controls work as normal.
