A branch fell on the linkage that connects to the feed stop bar linkage that is hooked to the valve. It tweaked the plunger that goes in and out on the valve so it is difficult for it to move. I can fix the linkage but I am probably going to need a new valve since it does not operate smoothly and has a slow ooze out of it now.

It looks like a pretty generic valve but I am trying to find a quick replacement for it.
There is 4 ports. In and out from the pump and two ports out for the directional control. It of course does feed/stop/reverse like all chippers.

Anybody know a good source for valves?

Can you post a pic? Believe it or not I have found replacement valves for our Bandits, woodchucks and altecs at Tractor Supply!

I will call Vermeer. I think it is a Prince hydraulic valve. Can't find the exact one online. However I did pull my valve apart and pulled out the shaft that connects to the linkage and controls the fluid flow. It was bent preventing it from moving properly. With some careful adjusting in the vice, I trued it up and it is working smoothly again. So back to work tomorrow.

That valve went on us on our Bandit. I searched and searched at local hydraulic places and the cheapest one was from Bandit. Vermeer, on the other hand, seem to make a lot of proprietary parts, in my experience. They charge a nice coin for those parts. 600-700$ for a muffler on a s600 mini, as an example, had it welded for 40$. Or 140$ for a hydro oil sensor! Screw it, we stick our finger in there from time to time!
