I can't figure out where this might be useful but the mechanism is sure cool. Kinda like the Kong Frog I bought but haven't found a use for

Could that be used on a lanyard instead of a rope snap?

A Frog might work there, but mine doesn't very well, this one is made to go onto a pin or stud.

I could see roofers and other construction workers using that for their PPE.

Tree guys could use it to clip in to the last couple of inches or threaded rod that stick out when you through-bolt a tree. You know....on those occasions when you need to tie in to a big tree 6' above ground level....
