FWIW, I have a Red Pack that made one trip to a fire. It is in pristine condition. I also have 2 sets of fire clothes, 2XL shirts and XLx32 pants. Make me an offer, you pay shipping. Been in the attic long enough. The pack might be good for rec climbers to carry gear to remote locations as it does have shoulder straps.

Here are a few pics for size in comparison to the Sherrill deluxe xl bag. Red bag is heavy duty cordura and ykk zippers.

Nice RopeBoss, i assume thats the older style?

I got one of each of the new line and the only complaint i have is the drawstring tops. Really annoying with 2 feet of cord dangling while closed tight. I like the zip-top (from what it looks like), and on the new models, there is no way to store gear outside, pockets are too small and i don't trust the small gear loops. I'd never hang anything of value on those, too flimsy IMO.

That one is the XL deluxe. They go for $76. The regular bags have the drawstring and you are right, they kinds suck. They used to be made with two draw strings that exited the top cover opposite each other and were much nicer to work with. A case where it wasn't broke but they had to fix it.

Does the new XL Deluxe look like yours? Thats the only one i didn't purchase. Got the Large, the Tool & Gear bag, saddle & backpack attachment. Was gonna get the XL after buying a couple more hanks of ropes cause i've overflowed the bags i have

Yeah. XL Deluxe. The only gripe I have is that the stays aren't strong enough and the sides will collapse. Can't have enough storage. Only problem is remembering where everything is.

The Value 250 (Tool & Gear) has the same problem with staying upright. I've got a buddy thats gonna sew me up some other things i'm workin on, might have him reinforce the ones i got but maybe hold off till i get the XL if it has that kind of top. I like that!

Besides that, theyre the best bags i've seen, but then again i've never used any "Rope" or "Arb Specific" bags besides these. Used to use 5Gal HomeDepot or Lowes Buckets and labeled what was in them. Worked good but too much to be carryin around so i just use them for stuff i barely use. Keeps em airtight
