Ugly, working trucks

I know you guys see them. Some of you drive them. Lots of them just make you smile to see them on the road.20170105_085423.webp
I drive a truck that is held together with tape and prayer, and I looked at him today and just felt like showing him off.
I'll find time for a few others I've had the pleasure of meeting in the next day or two.

Also how do I not sideways post images?

I like that Tree men sticker. BTW That truck's not ugly. You should see the trucks scrappers use in the citys around here. You would think, and hope, the truck was getting scraped to.

Holy road grime. That poor rope. What did it do to you to be punished like that?
Be 300' long quarter inch high-vis orange single braid in a bag-o-rope where I was hoping for a tie-down special.
Or the 5/8 that is holding my fishing poles on top? That one was an early splice of mine. It came out ugly.

Totally my favorite sticker. I stole it off of the old lawn-ornament bucket in the shop yard.
My roommate has one of those scrap trucks. I'll get a picture of Frank today.

This is Frank.
Ugly little toyota dually with absolutely zero options left on him. Including working lights of any kind.
He's a beast and has been doing trees for a decade or so.

Here is the unit that launched Porcupine Tree Care. I sold it to a buddy still working great. Custom deck we welded up, 6.9 diesel 4x4.
She wasn't pretty but she was pretty awesome.
Single rear wheel?
Looks like it got some stuff moved. That's a nice bed, too. Wish I knew how to weld.

I think the idea of 'the truck that helped me start my business' needs more love. Everybody who has owned one really has a soft spot for that truck and probably for similar ones for the rest of their lives, I think.
Any songwriters on here? Teeth and talent optional...

Yeah it was just a f250. I built the deck with a few buddies, one of whom was a good welder. We probably built it too wide for the chassis. I burned the deck above the wheels a few times over loading the old girl. Good unit over all though. Just slow and loud :)

I'll have to see if I can dig up some old pictures of stuff I used to have. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for little cab overs. I had a couple rough looking ones but man they sure did get a lotta work done. I've always loved driving ugly stuff, you can beat the living hell out of it and not give a f*k. My current business model doesn't really let me show up in ugly looking stuff but I kinda miss those days.

I'm kinda digging the small cab overs; turning radius & size being a couple of reasons.

COE's were invented, or I guess I should say evolved, from trucks servicing the cities. Lots of back alley drop offs and crowded streets. They adapt to our niche quite nicely. I still have my mid 40's chevy. I'm only saving the cab. Someday ..... I'd like to mate it to a F450 or F550 chassis. Nice to have a good capacity truck, and still be 'light' and nimble on it's rubber.
