Two Palms down

Removed these two Washingtonia robusta (maybe hybrid) last week in my neighborhood. Rigged one in the back, bombed the one in the front. It was windy that day.....and hot.
Still haven't been able to transfer them in HD to youtube, even though they we're recorded in HD. Hmmmm, I'll figure that out one of these days. Vid is about 7 min.

I really enjoyed that.
You look like you having fun and thats the most important thing next to being the safty freaks thatr we are.
Tommy sure is smooth. I didnt see nay stem wobble at all.

Did you hear about John E's palm removal job? According to his email, he nearly made himself a body to retrieve. I think Ill post his email in awakenings...unreal
Stay safe man.
GREAT VIDEO!

Well done, very cool.

I liked seeing how you tied the knots for the rigging in that you only needed, and therefore used, a nice, basic system. Some guys it seems like to use all the gadgets just because they have them. I also liked the great example of legitimate (and safe) one-handed chainsaw use.

Your 2 romeros did a nice job as well it looked like. How long did it take you to do that job? Did you take the stumps, too?

If you don't mind me asking, what do you usually get for a job like that? Out here in the OC it is so competitive that we're having to eat some of the dump fees just to compete.

Hope to see more vids.

Thanks alot. Yeah, just a block and porty. I think the job took around 3-4 hours. It would have went quicker, but we were also filming a vid for kudzu, so I had pauses because I was blowing dust on everyone. The stumps were done as well by our stump sub. We also pruned the 3 remaining frontyard fan palms.

I hear ya about the dump fees. It's close to $50 per ton here. We recycle everything except palms. However, we sometimes give them to a local tiki palm carver. He likes em' in 4-6' chunks.

He's getting better. He snubbed the first cut (head) a bit, but was much better after that.
